CBS News reported a record-breaking number of four female minority lawmakers elected to office: California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who is black and Indian American, Representative Tammy Duckworth, who is Thai (and a vet, and differently abled), Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, who is the US’s first Latina Senator, and Senator Mazie Hirono, who is Japanese and at the time of her election, was only the second woman of color ever to be elected to Senate.
